The Smoking Flowers
The Smoking Flowers
The Smoking Flowers are a rock duo from Nashville, TN. Their style incorporates stylings from roots, alt-country, punk, and folk - bringing a punk attitude and energy to their highly infectious songs while creating a marriage of song and voice that is uniquely their own. Husband and wife team Kim and Scott Collins are both vocalists and multi-instrumentalists. Their sound encompasses a wide range; they have been described as everywhere from “beautifully ragged, sometimes haunting, many times beautifully goofy-grinned and/or playful, pleading, and pledging – but always beautiful.”

The Smoking Flowers capture the same spirit of young lovers in trouble that graced turbulent country-rock classics by Emmylou Harris and Gram Parsons and even has some of the same manic family-style rock energy of Led Zeppelin or early White Stripes. Moving between old-timey country-rock weepers and high-powered blasts of rootsy power, The Smoking Flowers take cures from past masters, but their unique sound is rooted in their own stories and personal flair.

"A punkish/alt-country/whatever-you-need-it-to-be masterpiece... Kurt Cobain's ratty sweater traded for a CBGB t-shirt and bolo tie." ~ Relix Jambands
