Erik Koskinen
Erik Koskinen
"The best country songwriter in Minnesota, Erik Koskinen doesn't sing about tailgating, partying with babes and driving down dirt roads. He's more old school, with a focus on working-class themes, whether it's about the effects of oil in "Boomtown," the calling of a musician in "Six Pack of Beer and a Pack of Cigarettes" or the challenges of being unemployed on Independence Day in "Slow Burn." Those tunes are on his splendid second album, "America Theatre," a collection that would make Merle Haggard proud."
-Minneapolis Star Tribune

Erik Koskinen's America Theatre is a translucent eulogy to the genuine. Musically sprouted from the blend of American folk, country, rock-n-roll, and blues, Koskinen and his top-shelf band realize a sound that is distinctive and fresh while familiar and classic. From the tender opener, "First Time in Years" to the defiant "Six Pack of Beer" to "Boomtown," a track that flays the history of the west's settlement from bedrock to fracking with a locomotive's force of barbwire guitars, marching bass and cracking drums, Koskinen moves the listener through a landscape of personal and social struggles, as well as small triumphs, of our nation and its people. Ending on the quiet heartbreaker and breath taker, "Slow Burn," Koskinen's album is a lyrical and musical metaphor of American's theaters of war, of history, of relationships, and of the reflections in the mirror. Knowing but not didactic, Koskinen channels the ways of Whitman and reverently enters the anthology of uniquely crafted wry songs with the likes of Woody Guthrie and Ry Cooder while speaking as plainly as your neighbor. Koskinen joins the ranks of chief musicians and sharp wordsmiths.

Cornbread Harris
Cornbread Harris
Born in 1927, James Samuel 'Cornbread' Harris Sr has certainly seen a great deal in his life. Orphaned at the age of three, Harris arrived in Minnesota at the age of 12 after bouncing around foster families to eventually live with his grandparents. In addition to his life in music and the church, Harris worked for American Hoist & Derrick for 25 years. As a pianist, a singer and a songwriter, Mr. Harris was recently recognized with a Sally Award in 2014, a Minnesota Blues Hall of Fame Legend Award in 2012 and his appearance on Minnesota's very first Rock & Roll record, Augie Garcia's 1955 hit "Hi-Yo Silver", and subsequently sharing the stage with Elvis, speaks for itself. He is also the father of celebrated producer Jimmy "Jam" Harris, best know for his work with Janet Jackson and Mariah Carey.

Jack Klatt
Jack Klatt
Jack Klatt is a songwriter and finger-style guitarist based in Minneapolis. His unique sound rides the fine line between blues and country music and has proven to be a true purveyor of American music traditions. He’s won recognition for the MN State Arts Board, recorded alongside “Spider” John Koerner, and made it onto Daytrotter’s list of best songs in 2014. His 2016 release Shadows in the Sunset has been praised as a eminently satisfying, slow rolling, country/blues album that can best be described as authentic. Recorded in the little town of Viroqua, WI., the album was produced and engineered by Tom Herbers (Low, Trampled By Turtles, The Jayhawks).

McNasty Brass Band is a collection of Minneapolis/Saint Paul based horn players and percussionists that fuse the Minneapolis sound with the spirit of New Orleans. The outcome of this fusion is hard-hitting dance music and high-energy live shows.

Each player works tirelessly outside McNasty Brass Band as a side-man, some of them with national and international touring acts. That’s what makes McNasty special- these youthful but experienced side-men come together and showcase their compositions, solos, group vocals, and stage presence as true front-men. “McNasty Brass Band is a perfect example of why you shouldn’t make fun of the kid who is super into trumpet in 5th grade.” (

King Size Life, their first studio album, encapsulates their live energy with exciting compositions, rowdy gang vocals, and rip-roaring solos. The only thing missing is their dance moves! King Size Life was released along with a series of four music videos and will be available in vinyl for the very first time at this special late-night event.
