The Hooten Hallers
The Hooten Hallers
Columbia, MO trio The Hooten Hallers are known for hard-traveling and wild, energetic live shows. The myriad of influences in the music range from pre-war blues to punk rock to dark Americana, with a thematic penchant for the strange and unexplained. Their music isn’t quite Americana and it’s not quite punk, but a bit of both, fused together in a drunken tangle.
Freight Train Rabbit Killer
Freight Train Rabbit Killer
The duo Freight Train Rabbit Killer hails from Kansas City. Described as a heavy doom blues American Roots opera - a shaman of the hills and a vigilante bent on justice. Their live shows are intense, a freaking fantastic musical journey with screaming electric guitars. All accompanied by suits and masks.
Jaw Knee Vee
Jaw Knee Vee
Spawned from the aftermath of radioactive motor oil being spilled on a Robert Johnson record, Jaw Knee Vee (aka Johnny Vichich) is the definition of a one-man-band. Self described as “deep-fried trash blues,” Vichich creates a chaotic, yet hip-shaking, blend of blues and punk that pulls the audience in for a fully immersive experience.
Mike Gunther
Mike Gunther
Mike Gunther’s primitive and patently American music melds fiery lyricism and unusual instrumentation with traditional elements of country, blues and soul. He was named “Best Songwriter” in a City Pages annual “Best of the Twin Cities” issue.
